安妮蘿莉 Annie Laurie

這是一首知名的蘇格蘭民謠，詞曲皆優美得不得了，背景故事亦相當動人，這首歌是先有歌詞，後有譜曲，歌詞原來是一首情詩，寫於1705年，至今剛好300年。安妮蘿莉是一個女孩的名字，1705年時正值豆蔻年華，與一位多情的少年威廉道格拉斯（William Douglas）步入情網，熱戀中的威廉就以安妮蘿莉的名字寫了一首情詩送給她，少男情懷表露無遺，原文與中文譯詞如下：

詩中的Maxwellton（麥斯威爾頓）是一座城堡的名字，是安妮蘿莉的父親建造的。1835年時，有一位女孩名叫愛莉西雅．安妮．史波提斯伍德（Alicia Anne Spottiswoode），她當時亦在熱戀中，她發現了威廉道格拉斯寫的這首情詩，詩中的女主角的名字竟然與她一樣，就將它譜了曲，一首動人的歌曲就因此誕生了。愛莉西雅．安妮隔年嫁給她戀愛的對象約翰‧史考特（John Scott），後來就被稱為約翰‧史考特夫人（Lady John Scott）。

麥斯威爾頓與安妮蘿莉後來雖未結婚，「安妮蘿莉」這首歌的詞曲卻因為前後二位熱戀中的男女，創造出不朽的旋律，足見愛情力量之大。
